Circle movie and The Platform movie
Platform
In this movie, there is a vertical tower with prisoners at various levels. The food table moves through the center of all the levels, from top to bottom. At the topmost level, the table is full of food, enough for everyone to eat. Table platform stops at every level for few minutes. People can not store food. They have to eat whatever they want to until the time is up. As the platform of food moves from the top floor to the lower floor, the real behavior of human beings is depicted in a shocking and hard-hitting manner. People at higher levels enjoy food, have complete disregard for others, spill the food, make it dirty, and make it uneatable. Where survival is at stake, people kill others and are willing to eat human flesh also.
This movie portrayed a great message to society. Take only what you need, do not be greedy and a hoarder. There are limited resources on this planet. If you take more, someone has to be deprived and hungry. In our community, Some can hoard for years to come while some can not even afford enough food to survive. It tells us to change the perspectives at individual levels. People usually forget that they were at a lower level in the past. If nothing works then, dictatorship is needed to bring justice back in society.
It is easy to suppress the devil inside the human when there is abundance. But in a state of deprivation, the devil easily comes out.
Points to ponder:
Whatever is portrayed in this movie is not entirely true. In many countries and societies, there are opportunities for everyone to work and advance their career. There are no lower-level, upper-level things. Many things can be recycled, even the wasted materials.
The prison was a place managed by some administration. People were allowed to take one thing of their choice, inside. So, why no-one is talking about these people who set up the system in this way? Why is the moral individual responsibility? What about the responsibility of people owning and managing this place? Why can's they distribute food for everyone to survive? These managers created this situation and are expecting morality from sufferers.
How come one mother was allowed to travel on the platform table? She stated that she went down many times. It implies that she came up also after going down. So, why not anyone else can move up via that table?
How come the little child survived on the lowest floor? How come no one killed her to satisfy their hunger?
Was any disclosure made to volunteers? How come volunteers were allowed to inside this prison? There was no volunteering that needed to be done.
Who was responsible for the death of people, and what happened to dead bodies? How were diseases, injuries, etc. were handled?
