I am trying to compile a list of games I used to play in my childhood. Now, these games are either extinct or on the brink of extinction. Some of these games/play are indoors, some are outdoors and some can be played either indoors or outdoors. Many of these games need either no financial investment or very minimal.

Namak Mirch game-- One person has folded hands, facing towards other person. Other person says namak, mirch, haldi etc. First person has to move hands before getting slapped.

13 वीं शताब्दी के कवि संत ज्ञानदेव ने मोक्ष पाटम नामक एक बच्चों का खेल बनाया। अंग्रेजों ने बाद में इसे सांप और सीढ़ी का नाम दिया और मूल मोक्ष पाटम के बजाय पूरे ज्ञान को पतला कर दिया।
मूल एक सौ वर्ग गेम बोर्ड में, 12 वां वर्ग विश्वास था, 51 वां वर्ग विश्वसनीयता था, 57 वां वर्ग उदारता, 76 वां वर्ग ज्ञान था, और 78 वां वर्ग तप था। ये वे वर्ग थे जहाँ सीढ़ी पाई जाती थी और कोई भी तेज़ी से आगे बढ़ सकता था।
41 वां वर्ग अवज्ञा के लिए था, घमंड के लिए 44 वां वर्ग, अशिष्टता के लिए 49 वाँ वर्ग, चोरी के लिए 52 वाँ वर्ग, झूठ बोलने के लिए 58 वाँ वर्ग, नशे के लिए 62 वाँ वर्ग, ऋण के लिए 69 वाँ वर्ग, क्रोध के लिए 84 वाँ वर्ग लालच के लिए 92 वाँ वर्ग, अभिमान के लिए 95 वाँ वर्ग, हत्या के लिए 73 वाँ वर्ग और वासना के लिए 99 वाँ वर्ग।
ये वे वर्ग थे जहाँ साँप के मुँह खुलने का इंतज़ार किया जाता था। 100 वें वर्ग ने निर्वाण या मोक्ष का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।
One hand palm up, other hand finger on other person's palm. Say naras and then say kuru. If finger gets gripped or caught then you are out.
One palm up and other down. All stand in mandal. Only palm down hand moves. On Radha command, palm stays up. On Shyam command, palm turns down. On taali command, palm makes taali with the other person's hand. Teacher says Radha, Shyam and Taali in random order.
All stand in mondal. when teacher says Ek, all walk, On do(two), all jog, On teen, all sit, on chaar, all reverse their direction. Teachers says Ek, Do, Teen, Chaar in random order.
All stand. When teacher says Jai Bajrangi, all sit. When teacher says Jai Balram, all keep standing. Teacher says Jaibajrangi and Balram in any order.
Hot iron rod-- One person is in the center of mandal and moves around a stick. People in mandal have to avoid touching the rod. If someone touches it then that person is out.
2 teams in line. First person throws a stick, second person brings it back and throws it again, third person brings it back and throws it again. Whichever team finishes first is the winner.
Two teams. One person holds the stick low, about 20 feet away from his team members. second person from his team runs and jumps over the stick and then takes over the stick and then third person runs. Whichever team finishes first is the winner.
Two teams in lines. Front person rolls a stick, from over his head towards backside, with straight palms and fingers. Second person has to catch it in his staight hand and roll it over towards his back. Which ever team finishes first without making the stick fall down is the winner. If stick falls downs then that team restarts from the beginning.
Guessing or catching the phrase--Make a small mandal. One person is in the mandal and one is outside. Teacher gives a phrase to the outside person. He says it out loud so that the person inside can hear and gets it correctly. Mandal people make loud noises so that the inside person does not hear anything.
Tag using a bear pose, frog pose, elephant pose, etc.
Capture the pole-- Make a big mandal. Everyone gets a number. Teacher stands in the center with the pole. Teacher calls one number and leaves the standing pole. That person has to run and get the pole before it falls down.
Memory game-- Make a mandal. one person says his name. next one repeats that name and adds his ows. then next person says previos two names and his own. Variations can be adding adjectives to names which start with the first letter of name. Adjectives can start with any letter.
Memory game - make a mandal. one person does a 3 to 5 sec movement(like a warmup exercise), next person will do that movement and one of his own, third person will repeat first and second movement in order and then adds his, and so on. To increase the intensity, all others may jump or jog at their own place.
Cat and Rat-- Cat is chasing rat to tag him. Rat does different actions. Cat has to mimic those actions while running to tag.
Telephone or whispering game-- two teams in lines. Teacher gives a phrase and actions to the last persons in each team. He taps the shoulder of the person in front of him and repeats the phrase and action only once. That person passes it to the person in front of him and so on. The team which gets it correctly by the time it reaches the first person in the line is the winner.
Jumps-- On Radha, jump in front, on Krishna, jump backwards. On Ram, jump to right, on Sita, jump to left.
Crocodile game-- Two teams in line with every member getting a number. Teams are facing each other. One team has their hands in the shape of mouth- one hand upside with palm down and other hand lower with palm up. Teacher calls a number and that persn from other team comes forward and tries to touch the lower hand of anyone and then runs back to his position. If he gets tagged by the person whose hand he touched then he has to join his team.
Two teams standing randomly. Teacher throws a plastic cone and everyone waits for it to fall down. Team A has to go and make a line on the top side of cone and team B has to make a line at the lower side of cone. Whoever makes the line fist is the winner. This repeats many times.
Relay race with stick.
Everyone stands. Teacher gives nara and then some characteristic e.g. everyone with same color top or everyone with same date/month/year of birth or everyone with same height, etc. All have to group accordingly and then introduce themselves to other group members.
Snake-- Two teams in line with hands on shoulders of the person in front of them. Front persons are heads of the snakes and last person is tail. Head of snake has to eat tail of other snake(touch that person). Whoever eats other team members is the winner. If snake breaks then that team looses.
Junior and Senior-- All in a group. One person tags other person. They both now tag a third person and then first person goes away. Then they tag someone else and the previous person goes away. And so on.
Two teams facing each other. People in front of each other have their palms touching ther palms of person in front of them. On start they try to push the other person's palm. Whoever gets pushed back looses.
Two teams-- Whoever makes pyramid first wins( layers of pyramid and height matters).
Two teams. All sit on floor. A- team members hold the abd/waist of B team members. B team members try to get up in 10 seconds. If they get up then they win.
Two teams face each other- discuss any topic and get to know each other.
