Yesterday I watched the movie Tanhaji with my family at AMC theaters. Tanhaji is a historical drama about a person named tanhaji, the right hand of the great commander Shivaji Raje. The basic summary of the movie is that one of the mughals generals, Ubandhyan goes to defend the southern indian fortress of Kondana from the Marathas, who are trying to gain back control of the fort after giving it up in a peace treaty four years back. Since shivaji raje couldn’t go, he sends his right hand Tanhaji. The movie then continues and has a lot of drama but in the end Tanhaji and a small army conquer the fort and wave the Maratha flag over it again. At the end of the movie Tanhaji end up sacrificing his life to help the army win the fort.
In my opinion the movie wasn’t that bad. Slightly interesting but at the same time very cringy. I would rate it 7.5 or 8 out of 10. I probably won't go to AMC theaters again as the seats are very uncomfortable, and don’t recline. AMC does have good food though. That’s it for this short review of Tanhaji.
