In Sanatan Dharma, Bhagavans are shown holding weapons. Vishnu has Sudarshan Chakra, Shiv has Trishul. Ram fought with bow and arrows. Krishna encouraged Arjun to fight and he fought with Salva. Kali maa has weapons in her hands and she rides on a lion. Devatas fight with Asurs. Rishis cursed others when needed. Sanatan Dharma is not averse to fight or use weapons if needed to protect the dharma.
Considering this, was Gandi's nonviolence movement appropriate? Is it good to sit down and practice nonviolence and lose your people, land, resources and suffer atrocities? Is it cowardness or strength?
Was this nonviolence movement the sole basis of getting freedom from Britishers? or the contribution of people who fought back had more impact?
